Sisters of Defiance podcast for women hosted by Anita Rani, nourished by Ancient + Brave

Sisters of Defiance - Series Two

0 Min read

We’re proud to welcome back Sisters of Defiance, the podcast hosted by Anita Rani and nourished by Ancient + Brave, for a second series.

Through raw conversations and brave stories, the series shines a light on women whose names you know, but whose real stories are rarely told. Their journeys have challenged expectations, reshaped culture and redefined what’s possible. Each episode explores the untold realities behind success, resilience and modern womanhood.

This series, Anita is joined by Ancient + Brave’s Director of Nutrition and Education, Jo Woodhurst, where we will share our Weekly Ritual. Drawing on ancestral wisdom and modern science, Jo shares simple, practical rituals you can take home and weave into everyday life, to help all of us live a truly brave life.

And in this series, we’re delighted to have Choose Love as our official charity partner. Choose Love is a movement putting love into action, getting emergency aid and life-changing support to refugees and displaced people around the world. They stand with people who show what living bravely really means, every single day.

Join us wherever you find your podcasts over the next 10 weeks as we introduce you to some of the most courageous, groundbreaking women of our time. Discover our Sisters of Defiance on YouTube

Introducing this week’s sister of defiance…Sindhu Vee

To open series two of Sisters of Defiance, Anita sits down with Sindhu Vee for a warm and wonderfully honest conversation about taking the unconventional path. Sindhu reflects on what defiance really means to her: not sneaking around or rebelling for the sake of it, but following her own ideas, even when they look like a risk to everyone else.

She talks about growing up between Lucknow and the Philippines with a North Indian mother and South Indian father, the scholarship interview she lost at 20 by admitting she smoked, and how a childhood stammer gave her the way with words that now powers her comedy. From the practical reasons behind her move into banking to the personal cost of motherhood and starting stand-up in her 40s, she shares a powerful lesson in honesty, self-compassion and trusting your own timing. And she leaves us with some simple wisdom for the next generation: everything changes, so chill out, it’s not that serious.

This week’s Weekly Ritual: Come back to the foundations

New gadgets, new protocols, new supplements. Wellness advice is everywhere, and it can leave you feeling you should be doing more. This week, we suggest the opposite.

We look at why simplifying often serves us better than adding. You’ll hear how a gentle, honest self-audit can help you find the one area worth your focus, whether that’s sleep, digestion or energy. And we return to the foundations humans have always relied on: movement and challenge, nourishment and pleasure, connection and time alone.

No drastic overhauls. Just a clearer sense of where to begin.
