Type II collagen's triple-helix structure has a different mechanism of action from type I collagen peptides. Why is Noble Collagen in a capsule rather than in powder form?
The reason our Noble Collagen is in a capsule is because it utlises Type II collagen. This type does not need to be hydrolysed to exert it's action in the body. Its preserved structure in a capsule enables it to be absorbed more efficiently.
What is (UC-II) Type II Collagen, and how long does it take to work?
UC-II is a type of undenatured Type II Collagen clinically proven to support the integrity and flexibility of joint cartilage. Early improvements in promoting joint comfort, mobility and flexibility may be noticed at a low 40mg dose from only 3 weeks to 42 days. The most significant, noticeable and sustained benefits may be gained after 3 months of long-term, consistent daily use. It has a unique mechanism of action, different to that of Type I Collagen found in True and Wild as it signals the immune system to build new joint cartilage. It also has a different structure to the Type I Collagen (True and Wild) as it is not ‘hydrolysed’ but rather ‘undenatured’ which means it has a different mechanism of action.
If I take Noble Collagen should I still take True Collagen or Wild Collagen?
Yes, True and Wild contain Type I 'hydrolysed' collagen peptides. Type II Collagen is described as 'undenatured' collagen. These serve different purposes in the body. While Type II is focused on joint health, improving joint pain and mobility issues, Type I provides general support to whole body health and supports skin, hair, nails, bones and generalised support for joints. We recommend taking True or Wild Collagen to support whole body health. Where does Type II Collagen come from?
Our Type II Collagen is sustainably sourced from chicken sternum cartilage. This source is specifically chosen because it naturally contains a high concentration of Type II Collagen, which is beneficial for joint health.
Is Noble Collagen safe to take during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

What is the difference between True/Wild and Noble Collagen?
Collagen is categorised into different 'types', with each grouping having its own unique characteristics. So far, at least 28 different types of collagen have been identified, with around 90% of the collagen in the body consisting of types I, II, and III. Type I and Type III Collagen are the forms most commonly found in skin, bone, teeth, ligaments, organs, and tendons. Meanwhile, Type II Collagen is the primary protein in cartilage, the connective tissue protecting our bones at the joints. The degradation of cartilage is a significant cause of joint discomfort, disease, and loss of function over time.
Along with numbered types, collagen also has structural variations across different forms. There are two main structural variations to be aware of—undenatured and hydrolysed collagen. Hydrolysed collagen—the form our Type I Collagen takes—has been broken down or 'denatured' into smaller molecules. ‘Undenatured’ or ‘native’ Type II Collagen keeps its three-dimensional structure intact and has a uniquely effective mechanism of action that targets the joints.
