FAQs
WHAT IS REISHI AND ADAPTOGENS?
Adaptogens are herbs and mushrooms that help your body build resilliance against the negative effects of stress and anxiety. The benefits are wide ranging and best seen when consumed on a regular basis. Reishi is an adaptogenic mushroom which has been shown to reduce stress, fatigue and is immunity boosting.
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
Cacao + Reishi is naturally more bitter than some of our other products but this is for very good reason. The powerful compounds of this functional mushroom are naturally bitter and an important indicator of its high quality and potency.
If you would like to balance the taste - we recommend adding a small amount of maple syrup or creating the Ultimate Hot Chocolate.
DOES THIS PRODUCT CONTAIN COLLAGEN?
No, this is part of our vegan and collagen free range.
CAN I TAKE THIS PRODUCT ALONGSIDE OTHER ANCIENT + BRAVE PRODUCTS?
Absolutely. We recommend enjoying this product alongside any of our collagen products of your choice. You can also add a serving of MCT oil for a little extra creaminess and fuel.
CAN I DRINK THIS PRODUCT IN THE MORNING OR JUST THE EVENING?
Whilst we recommend this product as part of your Rest Ritual as it promotes calm and restorative sleep, it can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS OR VEGANS?
Yes, this is a vegetarian and vegan friendly
WHAT MILK CAN I BLEND WITH THE PRODUCT?
This really is down to dietary preference. We love adding our favourite unsweetened plant mylk to Cacao + Reishi but it goes equally as well with full fat, semi or skimmed cow’s milk.
IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR BREASTFEEDING OR PREGNANT WOMEN?
You should always consult your doctor or midwife regarding any new additions to your diet or supplements you take during your pregnancy and breastfeeding journey. Although Reishi has been used for centuries, it is not advised for pregnant women at high doses and more research needs to be conducted to determine ‘safe levels’ and therefore we urge caution until then.
