Great news for gut health. True Biome is officially FODMAP Certified™.

3 Min read

At Ancient + Brave, we recognise that gut health is complex and that the delicate balance of this ecosystem is influenced by many factors, including stress, sleep and our environment.

We also believe that a healthy gut balance should be something that everyone can enjoy. That’s why we are thrilled to announce that True Biome, our science-backed gut health supplement, is now certified Low FODMAP by Monash University.

In this post, we take a deep dive into the Low FODMAP diet and explain what our Low FODMAP Certification means for you.

What is the Low FODMAP™ diet?

Created by Monash University, the term FODMAP refers to a group of carbohydrates that can be hard for those with a sensitive gut to tolerate.

The acronym FODMAP stands for:

  • Fermentable foods

  • Oligosaccharides

  • Disaccharides

  • And

  • Monosaccharides

  • Polyols

According to Monash University, Rye wheat, onions, beans, and some dairy products like cheese and yoghurts can all be FODMAP triggers, as can some fruits.

If you are sensitive to FODMAP foods like these, following a low FODMAP diet under the guidance of a health professional may help to identify your food triggers and could also help to manage your symptoms.

However, it is important to note that a FODMAP diet does not treat disease, and a strict low FODMAP diet should only be commenced under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

What is the FODMAP certification?

To help make it easier for those following the Low FODMAP diet to spot FODMAP-safe supplements and foods, Monash University created the Low FODMAP Certification™.

Used worldwide, in over 130 countries, whenever you see the Monash University Low FODMAP Certification™, you can be confident that a product has been independently laboratory-tested and shown to contain low levels of FODMAPs when eaten at the recommended serving size.

True Biome: Low FODMAP Certified™ gut care

We’re delighted to announce that our True Biome gut health supplement is officially Low FODMAP Certified™.

Independent testing by Monash University confirmed that this next-generation gut health supplement is low in FODMAPs when consumed in the recommended serving: 6g daily.

“At Ancient + Brave, we’re committed to bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and everyday wellbeing. Securing Low FODMAP™ certification for True Biome is another step toward making gut health accessible, inclusive, and evidence-based, supporting even those with sensitive digestion to nourish their inner ecosystem with confidence.”

Dr Jenna Macciochi, Director of Science & Innovation, Ancient + Brave

What’s next for True Biome?

Securing FODMAP certification is just one of the ways that we go above and beyond to bring you gut health rituals that you can trust.

This remarkable gut health supplement is also currently awaiting a patent to recognise its innovative formula, which takes a 360° ecosystem approach to gut health and cares for your gut ecosystem using three key components:

PHGG (Partially Hydrolysed Guar Gum): a gentle prebiotic fibre that feeds and encourages the growth of your existing beneficial bacteria
L-Glutamine: an amino acid that helps maintain and repair the gut lining
HK L-137 (heat-killed Lacticaseibacillus paracasei): a clinically studied postbiotic that supports.

In addition to this, we are also running a True Biome citizen-science trial with the ‘Inner Circle’, our trusted customer community who trial products at home and share their lived experiences.

So far, participants of the True Biome trial have reported calmer digestion and better gut comfort within weeks of adding True Biome to their daily ritual.

Independent analysis is now underway, and we’ll share the findings here on the Science Hub as soon as the data is verified.
