A Radiant Ritual – The Small Things You Can Do To Achieve Beauty From Within

3 Min read

In this article:

The concept of beauty can often seem quite vague and futile. It is ever-changing and it can be hard to keep up with the current trends and ideals of society.  It is so important to create habits and rituals to keep you grounded and provide something that you can rely on. Self-care is, and always will be, a truly beautiful thing.

SELF CARE, SKINCARE

One way to get self-care into your daily routine is with your skincare routine. Abigail James, an award-winning aesthetician, recently wrote about her top summer skincare tips for glowing skin. Using a gentle cleanser, adding hyaluronic acid, peptides and treating yourself to a mask can all help keep the skin hydrated. It’s wonderful to spend time on self-care, and lavish in all the beautiful smelling products, but with our busy lifestyles, spare time for self-care is few and far between.

With time being a rare and valuable resource, it’s vital that products work the best for you with minimum effort, which is why Ancient + Brave’s Radiant Collagyn is perfect. It is so easy to add to your routine. It’s no different to having a morning coffee. All you need to do is stir it into hot water, plant milk or add it into a smoothie. YES…IT’S THAT EASY. Not to mention this vibrant berry blend tastes divine.

UNDER THE SKIN

When you think of skincare, often the first thing that comes to mind is cleansers, toners and moisturisers. What can often be forgotten, is what goes on under the skin. Your skin is constantly going through the process of replacing older cells with younger ones and good nutrition is vital to maintain this rapid process. Enter Radiant Collagyn…

Packed with essential vegan nutrients, Radiant Collagyn provides a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals that help support strong, glowing skin, such as Vitamin C, Raspberry, Haskap and Rosehip, all of which are rich in antioxidants. The perfect blend for indulgent and urban lifestyles.

VITAMIN C

Vitamin C is a vital nutrient to include in your diet. It protects and maintains healthy cells, and fuels your body’s natural collagen production, supporting strong skin, cartilage, and bones.

Skin naturally contains high amounts of vitamin C, especially in the epidermal layer (top layer).  Keeping this supply topped up is important, as it is vital for skin health. Vitamin C protects against UV damage and enhances the skin’s ability to heal because it improves the proliferation and movement of dermal fibroblasts (the main cell type in skin tissue).

It is a powerful antioxidant that neutralises and removes harmful oxidants from the environment, such as UV radiation and pollution. Some chemicals from pollution can penetrate the upper layers of your skin, which lead to an increase in the harmful free radicals linked with oxidative stress. This process promotes extrinsic ageing, which is something many of us are trying to prevent.

AGE WITH GRACE - ANTIOXIDANTS

Antioxidants, with their extra electrons, protect your skin from these harmful free radicals, which break down the collagen in your skin. It is important to get them into your diet in order to improve your skin’s strength and appearance.

Rosehip berries have also gained a lot of attention for their role in health and beauty. They are high in polyunsaturated fats which contribute to a healthy skin membrane and protect skin from inflammatory compounds (such as UV radiation, smoke and pollution).

Raspberry and Haskap are both rich in anthocyanin. These are the antioxidants that give them their deep red/purple colour. Research has suggested that, as well as their antioxidant properties, anthocyanins have anti-inflammatory properties which contribute to the maintenance of youthful, glowing skin.

Vitamin D contributes to the process of cell division which is important for the renewal of skin cells. Radiant Collagyn contains 40 micrograms, which is 800% of the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) of vitamin D3. We source our vitamin D3 from natural algae sources making it suitable for vegans.

“I mix 2 tsp every morning in my smoothie and I love it! My skin is glowing and I have the feeling my lashes are breaking less, so they look longer! Really impressed with this, will purchase again.” - J.A.
