FAQs
Do I need a vitamin D supplement in the UK?
Adults in the UK need around 10 micrograms a day, with sunlight being the greatest source.
Most people in the UK don't get enough vitamin D from sunlight alone, so the NHS recommends that everyone in the UK takes a vitamin D supplement between October and March*, when there isn't enough UVB in sunlight to make it naturally. Some people may also benefit from supplementing year-round, including older adults, anyone who spends most of the day indoors, and those with darker skin.

Ideal for those with active, busy lifestyles and suitable for use throughout perimenopause, menopause and beyond, creatine is also beneficial for those following a plant-based diet, since most dietary sources of creatine are animal-derived.
Although creatine can be taken during pregnancy, we always recommend that pregnant and breastfeeding women check with their health provider first, as should anyone with a pre-existing medical condition.
How much vitamin D should I take each day?
The NHS recommends 10 micrograms of vitamin D a day for adults and children over one*. That's enough to maintain healthy levels for most people. If you're deficient or in a higher-risk group, your GP may suggest a stronger dose for a short period. As a general rule, don't exceed 100 micrograms a day without medical guidance.

What's the difference between vitamin D2 and vitamin D3?
Both are forms of vitamin D, but they come from different sources and behave slightly differently in the body. D2 (ergocalciferol) is plant-derived, usually from yeast or mushrooms; D3 (cholecalciferol) traditionally comes from lanolin, though vegan D3 is now widely available. It is this form that we use in our supplements.

Should I take vitamin D3 with K2?
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium; vitamin K2 helps direct that calcium to the structural tissues rather than soft tissues (like arteries). While you don’t need to pair them together, they work in complementary ways. Vitamin K2 also contributes to normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones. If you're on blood-thinning medication, check with your GP before taking a K2 supplement.
